We are pleased that leading property associations have considered the CREOpoint initiative important to our industry and decided to all leverage our global event calendar. The following summarizes participants and provides instructions to add and promote events.
I. Participants to the industry calendar

ARDA (American Resort Development Association), ASID (American Society of Interior Desingers), BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association Intl.), BOMI (Building Owners and Managers Institute International), CCIM (CCIM Institute), CoreNet (CoreNet Global), CREW (CREW Network and Foundation), ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers), IFMA (International Facility Management Association), IREM (Institute of Real Estate Management), NAA (National Apartment Association),NAIOP (NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association), NAR Commercial (National Association of Realtors), NMHC (National Multi Housing Council), RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), RLI (Realtors Land Institute), SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors), ULI (Urban Land Institute Worldwide) and the USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council)
There’s no cost for these Associations and their Members to post on CREOpoint. The CREOpoint-powered event calendar will provide people connected to the real estate industry with an effective means to search and access most U.S. and other events relevant to our industry. Other associations (including regional or from outside the U.S.) could also contact jcgoldenstein@creopoint.com to join the program.
II. Adding your event to the industry calendar
Step 1: Add an event
1. Join CREOpoint (see upper R/H side)
2. Members can then simply click here
Step 2: Add the event name (make sure that this is a name that informs other members what the event is about). Note that you can add your logo or an image (If you would like to add a picture relevant to your event you push the camera button underneath the title box. This would be like uploading a picture to your profile. You can use a picture saved on your computer or one that is one a website.)
Step 3: Describe your event (including hyperlinks and pictures as needed. You can either write directly in the text box or paste text in the box. Be aware that the text’s formatting might change when it is pasted in. Below is instructions on using the Editor Toolbar :
- Clicking the B bolds the text that you have selected or the text you are about to type
- The I italicizes the text you type or select
- The U underlines the text
- And the S puts a line through the text
- The symbol that looks like a chain allows you to create a hyperlink by
connecting text with a web address
- The camera uploads a picture from a website or your computer
- And finally, the document uploads a document from a website or your computer
Step 4: Complete the form by filling out « Start and end date/time », Venue name », « Address » (including Google map if you’d like) and « Contact person/telephone »
Step 5: Decide privacy settings. Look on the upper right hand side of the form, one can choose private or pubic. Make sure you look at your options and check the right boxes.
If you’d rather not have the event seen by the whole CRE community, under privacy on the right hand side, just click on « Private” and only the invited people can RSVP and see your event details. If you decide to select « Public » and want to promote your event, simply click on « share » and the event details and link will be tweeted. That would help the global CREOpoint community find out about the event and retweet it, helping with your event promotion. Also please note that since CREOpoint is seen by Google as a leading site, event organizers benefit from our search engine optimization
Step 6: Send invitations. All you need to do is select a way to send the invites and follow the directions offered by CREOpoint. However we recommend that, for convenience or tracking purposes, you consider using your own email marketing tool like Constant or iContact, simply use the hyperlink for your event located in your browser. It should start by www.creopoint.com/events/.
III. Promoting your event with an iForum powered by CREOpoint
Since CREOpoint works in 12 languages besides English, one can click on any of the flags on top of your event page to read your event description in languages such as German, French, Spanish, Mandarin etc, thereby helping with the recruitment and loyalty of non-US event attendees.
You could do even more with a branded iForum like www.creopoint.com/profile/MIPIM, an interactive online platform that would allow attendees, sponsors and exhibitors to network year round.
