Less that a year ago three young corporate real estate advisers in London decided that it was time to form their own business.
Hatton Real Estate was created as a specialist in the City fringe area, close to the world famous square mile that dominates London's financial core.
The founders of Hatton Real Estate took the view that occupiers of commercial properties were increasingly using social media, in all its forms, to search for and find accommodation. The new company has embraced the technology and all the opportunities that it offers for communicating directly to the target market.
Within months they were nominated for agency of the year in the Young Norwood Property Awards, which they subsequently won against bigger and more established players.
Hatton Real Estate recently concluded a transaction that came about purely through marketing activity on Facebook. It is thought that this is a first for commercial real estate in the UK. Following this transaction the firm was featured in a three page profile in Estates Gazette.
It has now been announced that Hatton Real Estates has been short listed as London Property Adviser in the Estates Gazette's property awards 2011. Not bad for a small firm that has yet to celebrate its first birthday. The winners of the Estates Gazette awards will be announce on the 16th April - so watch this space!
And some still say that social media is not relevant to the marketing of corporate real estate.
