Helen/ All,

Hi. You can also access latest workplace, leadership and sustainability thinking at Workplace TV (www.workplacetv.com). Enjoy!
We are also always looking for more video content from around the world, and we are currently looking for sponsors interesting in linking their brand to our content that currently goes out to c.20,000 workplace professionals - we aim to get that up to 50k this year.
best regards,
Paul Carder, Director, Workplace TV Ltd.

I am reading and hearing about deals going forward in India and China, but often with renegotiation to reflect an adjusted projection of capital value and returns.

Has anyone got a take on emerging markets in Europe, and how deals stand in those markets, like Poland, Romania, and Ukraine?

From a local standpoint (Hong Kong), local agents and bankers mostly all say that nothing is moving, and that they don’t expect things to pick up until March ’09. Though Hong Kong is not an emerging market, it does however serve as a conduit towards many South East Asian markets.

Shekhar, I have attended the Dubai, China and Asia Cityscape expo's and your observations is pretty much on target. World recognition is what they are looking for as they have to drive tourism and more population to use the vast infrastructure that they are developing. I am not sure if and when they will achieve this and more how the oil dollars will play a role in the next 10 years. While visiting stands at these events it was definitely a display of who's got the biggest stand, project and spending the most money. It will be interesting to watch this develop.

I recently attended the Cityscape USA Conference in NYC. I had the pleasure to see several of the exhibitors and their development projects. I saw one recurring theme from all the Mid East Developers: Over the Top and I am going to be bigger, better, bolder than the other guy. Come on, aren't two man made islands in Dubai enough or do we really need to create an entire new country in the water. Each Country seemed to have the biggest, best, latest, most modern offerings to attract the global community. I wonder how they are putting values on these projects? Or perhaps is not a matter of valuation but more of global recognition.
