As a global leader in sustainable design, Gensler designed Shanghai Tower to incorporate green strategies that reflect the city’s commitment to an environmentally responsible future and make the tower one of the most sustainably-advanced tall buildings in the world. The sustainability of the tower grows out of Gensler’s integrated approach to its design, using simulation studies to optimize overall building performance.
“We hope Shanghai Tower inspires ideas about what sustainable tall buildings can be. We’ve lined the perimeter of the tower, top to bottom, with public spaces, and we’ve integrated strategic environmental thinking into every move,” said Arthur Gensler.
