Looking for like-minds for innovation in the property sector

I am planning, creating, and developing a new place-based property venture. Anyone in the CREOpoint community interested in doing things differently?I'm talking about inclusion, community-led, open technologies. Property and communities built and managed in a sustainable way. And by sustainable I mean more than just green. I mean financial, environmental, and social sustainability. Triple bottom line returns.Asset acquisition, community-ownership, profits re-invested into community development.…See More

Will Sustainable Development Pay? asks ULI and RREF

My answer to this question is a resounding yes. But not so much in financial terms, but rather in social terms it pays to develop sustainably and more broadly we should adopt the attitude that everything we do should be done in a sustainable manner. Development should be done so in a responsible, sustainable, and thoughtful manner – taking into account the impact on the environment, people, and the community. My thoughts also turned towards eco-refurbishment or more commonly referred to now as…See More

ULI: Social Media in the Property Industry

I feel as though I have been caught in the winter of social media – there is always a flurry of activity. The one breakout session at the ULI Annual Conference that I attended that was not about sustainability was about social media. On the panel were Brant Long, Global Head of Branding for Jones Lang Lasalle; Marthijn Pool from…See More

Everything starts with an idea. Ideas become results through strategy and actions. All problem solving starts with information and answering similar sorts of questions – what do you want, who can provide it, where do you find it, how do you go about finding and getting it... I have resolved issues and made strategic progress whilst working with a number of different types of organisations including financial institutions, professional services firms, and many owner-operated businesses. I like to help create sustainable organisations around community and people through the provision of strategy consultancy services.

My areas of expertise include:
> developing businesses and strategy
> developing communication and action plans
> managing teams and projects
> understanding financial systems, accounting, and internal controls
> raising finance
> advising on commercial property and sustainable environments

I have worked with organisations such as Deloitte, Hypo Real Estate Bank, ABN AMRO, and Crown Northcorp (and its subsidiary Crown Mortgage Management), advising clients such as Credit Suisse, Fortress, Apollo Management and many entrepreneurial businesses.

My afternoon at the ULI Annual Conference in Paris was spent hearing interesting perspectives on communicating achievements in carbon reduction in the property industry, data analysis around climate change, and stories of success in developing property for both social and financial return.

In the breakout session on marketing and… Continue
