Mr. Katz has extensive experience in technological products and program evaluations for energy and building automation in both the institutional and the marketplace settings. This includes systematic approaches to project design; training delivery to facility staff; alternative building automation strategies; utilities infrastructure development; deregulation and convergence strategies; project development and management; and product evaluation.
In 1993 he established his consulting practice of Sustainable Resources Management and the controls subsidiary Sustainable Environmental Solutions, after 27 years of corporate procurement and planning responsibilities with Canadian Bechtel Engineering, Johnson & Johnson and Ontario Hydro. His activities included participation in the marketing of new ideas, educating the key players, and motivating the recipients to meet their objective.
His current sales, marketing and consulting activities include energy management, building automation, technology product assessments, sustainable "GREEN" buildings, renewable energy systems, distributed generation and the competitive opportunities arising from the worldwide deregulation of utilities.
He was one of the Canadian participants in the International Performance Monitoring and Verification Protocols for Renewables and Pollution Credits. He is an Executive CO2E Emissions Trader. He is a member of the Environmental Markets Association and is helping re-establish the Canadian Chapter to be ready for the upcoming Carbon Trading Regimes. He has also recently been trained as a Business Development expert reviewer for Sustainable Technology Development Canada. He is approved to review STDC proposals that request millions of dollars for energy and environmental technologies for the economic viability and the business case.
He currently consults to many US companies and represented their products and services to the Canadian market. These include Optimum Energy, provider of the HARTMAN Loop control for chiller plants, the daylighting systems for Natural Lighting, Enerlume lighting technology, and a number of recent products seen at the Green Building New York are under negotiations.

Thanks for your kind comment. If I was to start over again, I most probably would become an architect, as I love architecture so much. And I am completely for green buildings. If and when I have a say on any development I would strongly suggest that it is build GREEN.
