Google to launch real estate search in the UK?

Sorry if you're in the USA or Australia as this might be old news - but for us involved with CRE in the UK this is important!

Following the introduction of “Real Estate Search” on Google Maps in the USA and Australia last year there has been speculation that Google would soon be introducing the same service in the UK.

Google has refused to comment on its plans for the UK but there is evidence that such an launch is getting closer:

• Users of the service in the US and Australia (ie on the .com site) can now search for real estate in the UK and have the results displayed in Pounds Sterling
• Google is now publicising how to upload the details of real estate in the UK to Google Maps
• As part of the upload you have to specify if it is residential or commercial
